A young man, trapped in the infinite corridors of a Japanese subway station, is forced to confront deeply held fears and anxieties in order to escape his purgatorial prison.

A stylish and tense psychological thriller with a philosophical edge, adapted from the popular video game.

In this gripping high concept horror, a commuter (Kazunari Ninomiya), who is grappling with the decision over whether or not to become a father, finds himself caught in a continuous loop in the Japanese metro. Signs reveal that the only way to reach "Exit 8" and escape the labyrinth is to meticulously spot the anomalies that appear along the eerie identical corridors. But this task is complicated by a series of gruelling psychological challenges – nightmarish visions, ghostly encounters and harrowing mind games.

With every mistake sending the Lost Man back to the start, this Möbius strip soon reveals itself to be a kind of purgatory, and a powerful metaphor for the guilt, indecision and alienation which haunts so much of modern urban life.

Directed and co-written by the multi-talented Kawamura Genki (producer of films including Your Name, Suzume and The Colours Within, as well as the author of globally bestselling novel If Cats Disappeared from the World) and adapted from Kotake Create's cult video game, Exit 8 delivers stylish scares with a compelling existential twist.
