An imaginative documentary by Suzanne Raes (Close to Vermeer), in which an eccentric family must come to terms with the anxieties of their childhood while emptying their parental home.
If you are afraid of the monsters under your bed and trying to be brave enough to face them, you had better make up a story. Harriet and her three older brothers experienced a magical childhood “among the dragons” at Cumnor Place, with enchanted gardens, fairy tales and nightmares. Now that they are adults and both their parents have passed away, brothers and sister come together to clear out the family home so it can be sold. And as they clear out the bulging attics and overstuffed rooms, they try to relate to their demanding and eccentric parents and come to terms with their unorthodox and sometimes traumatic upbringing.
