A poignant portrait of resilience and perseverance, about Mediha, a teenage girl from the Yazidi community, who is trying to come to terms with her trauma after escaping from IS captivity.
As she bravely confronts her past, she and her younger brothers try to rebuild their lives, despite the uncertainty surrounding the fate of their father, mother and baby brother.
The three children depend on a network of rescue workers in their search for their missing relatives. Filmed over a period of three years in Iraq, Turkey and Syria, the film highlights Mediha's extraordinary resilience. Through her personal video diaries, she confronts her trauma and pain and begins her own investigation into her abductors. Mediha is a story of courage and perseverance, in which a young girl is determined to find her way to justice and healing.
