Romy (Nicole Kidman) is successful in business, has a loving husband (Antonio Banderas) and is a good mother. Her carefully structured existence is thrown off balance when she meets the brash intern Samuel (Harris Dickinson). As she slowly relinquishes power, Romy discovers more and more about herself and her own intimate desires. But how much control is she willing to give up?

Halina Reijn wanted to make a film about self-love and how you can love all the layers of yourself, “including the dark sides.” Babygirl had its world premiere in Venice, where Nicole Kidman was awarded the Best Actress prize.
