Know what you’re buying
What do you, as a consumer, know about the production methods of your purchases? Can you trust labels or brand names for ethical production? Are these certifications properly monitored? And what about cheap counterfeit products of poor quality – do they contribute to exploitation and environmental pollution? Should the government address these issues? These are all dilemmas you face as a consumer. Discover how to handle this at this activity!

The future of plastics
What’s the difference between bioplastics, biobased plastics, and biodegradable plastics? Conventional plastics are everywhere but come from fossil resources and aren't biodegradable. Most are not recycled, causing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The HyBRit research group, a collaboration between the University of Groningen and NHL/Stenden, is developing recyclable plastics from natural resources and biodegradable plastics that break down naturally without harmful residues. Stop by and check it out yourselves!
