Deep Sea is een Chinees visueel meesterwerk vol felgekleurde waanzin en stijlvolle animatiebeelden.

Shenxiu werd als kind door haar moeder in de steek gelaten. Sindsdien heeft ze nare dromen over een monster genaamd Nachtmerrie. Als ze met haar gezin op reis gaat met een cruiseschip, ziet ze op een stormachtige nacht Nachtmerrie op het dek, die het lied van haar moeder neuriet. Daar begint haar mysterieuze reis...

Deep Sea is de openingsfilm van Forum's eigen animatiefilmfestival Framed (23 t/m 26 mei), een festival barstensvol animatiefilms, masterclasses en talks van lokale en (inter)nationale makers.
