Unicorn Wars

Two sibling bears called Bluey and Tubby are sent on a mission to retrieve a missing army squad in the dangerous magical forest which has been occupied by unicorns. A war has been going on for generations between the unicorns and cute bears, and the bears keep fighting for what they believe is their right to the forest. 

There are no actual humans as characters in Unicorn Wars, but the film does analyse humanity and their behaviour. How is war waged, and how does this influence society? What are the repercussions of propaganda and misinformation on an individual? Spanish animator Alberto Vázques asks these serious questions in a film filled with hyper-cutesy character designs and a colorful, sometimes psychedelic art style, while the horrific consequences of waging war are clearly visible in its story and animation; Unicorn Wars doesn’t hold back in its visually graphic depictions of blood and gore. One thing is for sure: this film is not made for kids.
