A sparkling Nouvelle Vague classic.
A television producer (Belmondo) escapes bourgeois life in Paris together with an old flame (director Godard’s ex-wife, Anna Karina), ending up in a tangle of intrigue and murder in the South of France. Godard’s energetic and exciting variation on Bonny & Clyde is packed full of political statements, absurd events, film jokes and quotes, shot in fabulous CinemaScope with brilliant colours. Viewers will be captivated from the start. American Hollywood actor Samuel Fuller plays himself in a cameo appearance, uttering the legendary words: “Film is like a battleground. There’s love. Hate. Action. Violence. Death. In one word, emotions...”.
