King Lear sees how two aging fathers - one a king, the other his courtier, reject the children who really love them. Their blindness unleashes a tornado of ruthless ambition and betrayal, as family and state are immersed in a violent power struggle with bitter endings.

Sir Ian McKellen paints an extraordinarily moving portrait of King Lear in this modern retelling of Shakespeare's tender, violent, moving and shocking play. The live registration from the famous West End theatre in London can now be seen a number of times with us.
