Midsommar

The successor to Aster's horror sensation Hereditary (2018) was not long in coming. Midsommar is another horror film (from the folk-horror subgenre), in which all the action takes place in full daylight and night light. A group of American anthropology students is going to the far north of Sweden to attend a special midsummer night ritual. That doesn't work out too well for most, though the trip is strangely beneficial for the only girl in the group (a fabulous Florence Pugh), who struggles with major mental health issues.
