Jessica Woordworth's post-truth fantasy is disturbingly similar to our own time.
Luka, a young ambitious soldier, settles in the legendary Fortress Kairos where heroic warriors defend the remnants of civilization. His hopes of serving as an elite sniper prove in vain when he is assigned to the maintenance crew and must submit to Kairos' strict code of obedience-stamina-sacrifice. As he rises in rank, Luka finds strength and joy in his friendship with Konstantin, an enigmatic radar engineer, and Geronimo, a light-hearted soldier.
Inspired by Dino Buzatti's acclaimed book 'Il Deserto dei Tartari', Jessica Woodworth (Khadak, Altiplano) creates a world in menacing black and white with ominous sound design with Luka.
