At the beginning of the 20th century, the discovery of oil suddenly made the Osage Nation Indians one of the wealthiest peoples in the world. Their wealth immediately attracted white profiteers, who used manipulation, extortion and theft to extract as much money as possible from the Osage and then murdered them. A series of brutal crimes occurred that became known as the Reign of Terror.
