Raak mij aan! Touch me!

"In space, no one can hear you scream." Ridley Scott's masterpiece that is not only one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made, but also a milestone in the horror genre.

The now legendary Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is one of the crew members of a starship that receives an SOS signal from a distant planet. When she gets there, no one is there anymore. There is, however, a nursery garden where hungry, indestructible alien parasites are ready to hatch and eat astronauts.

The film was shot in a modest but effective setting, on a limited budget and with a small, largely unknown cast at the time. Director Scott relies entirely on his ability to create an oppressive atmosphere. For this he uses beautiful images that all radiate menace. A threat that is reinforced by the claustrophobic sets and realistic acting. The beautiful special effects were rewarded with an Oscar. Later followed by several sequels.
