The book 'A Little Life' by Hanya Yanagihara has deeply touched millions of readers worldwide. Ivo van Hove has turned it into an equally poignant theater performance. We show the live recording.
After an extremely successful period at ITA (International Theater Amsterdam), where Ivo van Hove created and performed the play, the performance is now also a record-breaking success at London's West End.
A Little Life follows four college friends in New York: Willem, who aspires to become an actor, the talented and successful architect Malcolm, the eccentric artist JB and the reclusive, enigmatic Jude. When ambition, addiction and pride drive the group apart, they still bond because of their love for Jude and his mysterious past. It gradually becomes clear that Jude has a traumatic past and the friends realize that only through deep understanding and boundless love can they maintain their friendship with him.
James Norton (Happy Valley, McMafia) takes the leading role in the acclaimed play. Other cast members include Luke Thompson (Bridgerton), Omari Douglas (It's A Sin), Zach Wyatt (The Witcher), Elliot Cowan (The Crown), Zubin Varla (Tammy Faye), Nathalie Armin (Force Majeure) and Emilio Doorgasingh (Best of Enemies).
The recording was recorded live from The Savoy Theater in London.
